Hi all,

Yet another new member here, Jay from Perth, I've been lurking for the last couple of weeks and have finally got around to the big introduction....

I'll make a confession first up, I dont own a Galant or Legnum, however i'm in the process of trying to find a decent Legnum in the specs I want right now, even though a couple of friends are trying to steer me into a Stagea RS Four instead..

I was in the market for a 12 month old Mercedes C class as a family car, but after driving one it became apparent that they arent actually any better than the local and Japanese products, and then by chance I was talking to a guy with a Legnum, and here I am now. The aim for when I find a decent car is to build it up into an over-engineered, fast family car, with the add-ons and upgrades integrated into the car with OEM appearance, fit and finish.

I'm probably a bit older than most people on here, having just tipped over to the wrong side of thirty, and have been playing around with and racing cars since I was old enough to walk (I was around when R33's were brand new and worth over 40k, and an S13 was a rare and expensive thing. For shame...), and I'm currently doing nut and bolt resto's on two old Aussie muscle cars in the workshop at home, plus building a historic track toy, much to the missus' dismay.
My driving history reads like a car yard, everything from a grumpy 1970's V8 Falcon to a JZZ30 Soarer with a 1.5JZ, and even a Gemini panel van with a whopping 100hp..

I'll post up a WTB advert in the classifieds in the near future for the Legnum im after, and hopefully I'll be able to add to the forum in some way....

Welcome Jay to OzVR4,

Look forward to your input, you'll find our members will happily reciprocate.

If you can't find the answer your after from using the search function, just post up your question and we'll do our best to answer.

hey jay, welcome to the forums. where abouts in the hills are you?

Up Stoneville way, toothless hillbillies and banjo plucking all the way!

Welcome Jay.

You'll find there's quite a few of us who have too many grey hairs (or not enough hair!).

The Galants/Legnums are exceptional cars, which combine performance, practicality, refinement and low cost like very few others.

I totally get why you've given up on the hard core sports cars for something like a Legnum because it's exactly what I did.

Have you thought about getting a Legnum imported? You generally get more options and a better car for less coin via importing.

Hi Bruce

I've considered having one brought in, but I'm looking around locally first just in case I jag what Im after.

The Legnum seems perfect for me as a daily driver, i'm too old for neons and milo tin exhausts these days, and I cant justify 50 odd thousand for a local performance car that weighs in at around two tonnes and doesnt do much better than a Leggy....

Welcome to the forums Jay.

I'm sure you'll find everything you need on these forums, and if not, don't be afraid to ask. Keep your eye on the WA section for meets/events and don't be afraid to come along and say gday.

Hey Jay!

Is Regi's Leggy still for sale? If so it's a good buy for $8,500! You might have to spend $1,500 for fixing the ball bearing, but you'll get a black Legnum with leather & sunroof and 85,000km!
