Ok,

I'm sure its been done before, but I cant find it!!

Is there any other options for Suspension other than Coilovers?

And the 2 month wait to get them here from Japan?

Not to mention the cost???

You can get springs for the stock shocks locally.

There are different brands of coilovers available.... You don't want options other than coil overs though unless you want to just put in lowered springs as coilovers are the way to go...

There are brands available locally as far as I know.

I think some people have got them for ~$1500.

There are loads of threads. I would search and post links but this uni pc sucks.

If you need to replace your shocks, then Coilovers is a cost effective option. The only place you can get new shocks from is Japan, NZ or the UK. I have tried chasing up prices of KYB replacement inserts, Bilsteins etc, and by the time you factor in new springs, new shocks, you are only maybe $100-150 short of the cost of coilovers and you have ZERO adjustability.

SO for the money you are spending, get some coilovers with the right spring rates and you'll be fine. I'd suggest if you like the stock ride, Tein Superwagons are 5/3 and slightly up on stock rates (about 30%) and would provide a good ride with height and damper adjustability.

Oh, but if you only want to lower it and keep the factory shocks, there are a number of springs available. Kings have springs that fit, but aren't the correct spring rates for the legnum as they are designed for other cars, but just happen to fit. Tein S-Tech springs are pretty popular, and there are also RS-R* springs avialble. There was another brand (name escapes me - esemte was after them and bradc has them) but they are no longer available new, so you would have to hunt down 2nd hand.

1997 Legnum RED!!!
There is another option, K-Mac do make a custom springs with the correct spring rate or spring rate you desire. Cost around $560 fitted.

I got my springs done with them when I had my Ralliart Magna and they've got the spring rate I wanted which it didn't compramised the ride comfort.

$560 is pretty rich just for springs.... you could get Tein S-Tech (which have been developed specifically for the Legnum by Tein) for around $450 even at the current shitty exchange rate.

And the other brand was Tanabe ;)

I have Dobinson's in the rear of mine..... The fronts were "customised" by a mate of mine who is a suspension guru (been doing it for 30 years) as the ones they sent me didn't fit!!!

If they have fixed them though it would be all good. I got them + fitting for under $400

I waited 3 days for arrival too :)

Hey thanks heaps for that!

Just spoke to Ryan from ISC Performance.

He was very helpfull!

Little bit less than that price too! :)

I ordered mine yesterday and the price was a bit more that $1500. I think he's making it up as he goes along

I have, Im trying to get him registered here in the traders and vendors section.

The price I was quoted was very reasonable!!!! Considering, fully adjustable, choice of spring rate, new with warranty and shipped to your door!!!

We will see how he goes getting registered!

Nice bloke!
