Hi guys,

New on here (obviously) and I'm looking for some general advice.

I did some searches but couldn't find quite what I was looking for.

I'm looking at getting a second hand Galant VR4 from a guy in Adelaide. It's a Series II 1999 Type V with 90xxx Km on the clock. Any ideas what I should keep an eye out for when I go to check it out?

Any common problems or anything like that?

Cheers!

A service history is a good idea. Even better see if you can enroll one of the chaps here to have a look at it for you.

Not 100% sure yet, something between 14k - 16k. Waiting for him to replace the clutch before I test drive it. Never even driven a turbo car before and I only understand the real basics of what they do.

Coming from a FF NA car to a 4WD TT car :p

With the preludes you have to look out for rust in the sun roof, back rubber boot seal etc. Anything like that with the Galants?

Jordan,

Get Steve Knight (of SKR) to look it over (0419 827 850, 4 Walla St Lonsdale). He's an EVO specialist with many years experience, and recently getting legnum experience courtesy of Me & Nissy taking our cars there ;) He's looked over my car a few times now, and getting to know them well.

He may charge you for an hours time, but I can guarantee it'll be worth it.

Sounds good, thanks for that. I'll see if I can get him to check it out before I buy it. Cheers!
