hey guys so events get posted up every now and again, MCA just recently had one. in which i posted on here. As i am thinking about planing a cruise - meet with several clubs and forums i put the question to you....

What will it take to get you to participate in events?

and also what do you want to see from people planing events?

if you are simple not interested in these than thats fine, i understand there nto for every one, but as soon as we start getting more numbers than the events will get better and better.

i would love it if every victorian could take some intrest and respond to this thread, as after all it is to make clubs like this better for every one.

Many clubs and forums will be contacted after i have set out the layouts for the event asking that the clubs and forums help support the event as both a Official event or even as a non official event, more turn outs to events will see more action on the forums and new members to all clubs. this will not be an exercise to take members from other forums instead away to promote all forums and to get people involved in events which im sure sponsors would be happy to see.

regards joey.

just looking for helpfull sujestions.

For me (now) i like the fact that i know most of the people at our meets.
They are more like friends than just some random kids asking where my bov is etc.

The event should be at somewhere were there are plenty of car parks etc and toilets and all that.

thats about all i can suggest

Personally it's notice, i need at least a couple weeks if not to a month's notice just due to work and personal things that are always going on (not trying to say i'm popular lol)

Yea, all these guys make valid points. For me, its just life that gets in the way. I'm not 20-something any more and just don't have heaps of spare time. I also don't want to get stuck with "kids" who just want to thrash around. If I'm cruising, it has to be with, as Chris put it, friends.

Joey, you'll just have to take into account the fact that this IS an older crowd :D

Except for Chris, he's a little spring chicken!

I am by far the most mature out of the group though.

I am up for going out driving etc , but not with a bunch of people that are going to be doing skids at every set of lights.
Plus is hate the fact that people will try and race me over and over again , even IF i beat them.

Yeh, gotta agree here. Sorry i bailed the other night.

The location wasn't really desirable, nor was the route (Princess Hwy on a Sat night with a modded car and some hoons just isn't a good idea)

There definately was not enough notice.

The meet point was average, You really need a carpark.

Let people know the route. (If i drove from the location of the first meet point, especially when it is 30 kms away, i would be dirty)

First of all some maried guys using your family as an excuse common! – You only have one woman to worry about hahahaha joking

For me it’s a bit of notice and I am very happy to come along as all the guys are really friendly and i get heaps of ( small balls syndrome) bad feeling as all of they cars are modified while I collect the mods/toys for the single tune ( being a mature age student sucks lol )
And also the location! Maybe we could get everyone to mention they postcodes and then somehow work out the most central meeting point as an example I have to use east link plus around 30 km of Monash freeway to get to our beloved petrol station / car wash with that extra friendly pump attendant.
Excellent idea :) ????

Location. I understand nothing's going to happen in my neck of the woods, but nothing even happens in the Western suburbs. I'm not driving 2.5 hours to get to a meet point, then drive for another couple of hours, then drive another 2.5 hours home. Especially when I have no idea what the turnout is going to be like.

meets are always good and all the Guys/Girls from this forum are always friendly etc i feel i know most of them like friends even though i have met very few.

notice needs to be heaps in advance, i live in the bush but meets at bathurst or even sydney are possible if i know about them and can work them in with other things while im there.

Id be there more often if I read the forum often enough to get notice of the washmeets

Well Stephen, why cant you just surf the net when you in the air doing bugger all but looking at clouds???? I mean seriously! If astronauts can twitter...

Hay guys, i feel like im one of those kids ya talking about.

i came to ozvr4 to learn about the cars, get advice from every one that has one. The feel that i got from alot of those post is you want to be a closed comminty, now thats just the feel i got.

I find that when it comes to my car my pride shines, i am more than willing to share everything i learnt working on my starion.

But back on track now, i think the fourm its self should have an anual show and shin day, make it a large even every year, tie it in with other car clubs. As far as cruises go give alot of time so ppl can set aside that date. Try and meet at the same place so ppl cya there, but away go some where new and diffrent. Have hill runs, and than city cruise days/nights.

Like iv said befor, i am more than will to meet up one night to take some HDR pics to post up. Keep it fresh.

Ramon:bigsmile:

I would just like to edit my word, i did get a wonderfull freindly responce in the [VIC] Yarra Valley Twisties Cruise thread.

I felt more than welcom.

Thank You.

Yea Ray, its not about not wanting to share our time with people, its that we are all old, fat, and lazy! We've all been through the bullshit of car clubs and just want to chill.

I always make an effort to include new people at our irregular wash meets!

I think we should hold some meets on friday or sat nights cos during the week some people have to work the next day.
Also how about different locations not just wash bays.
