hi all so i'm thinking of doing a battery relocation in my Galant and putting the battery in the boot. just wondering whats needed

sealed battery like a optima http://www.batteriesdirect.com.au/shop/product/4357/optima-d34.html

circuit breaker 150amp x 2 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/150Amp-I...144917?hash=item1c7234c3d5:g:MjYAAOSwzJ5Xdli9

battery box http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/150Amp-I...144917?hash=item1c7234c3d5:g:MjYAAOSwzJ5Xdli9

what positive cable does everyone use
like this ?http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/WELDING-...475343?hash=item2a7198f24f:g:GGwAAOSwdsFXS9c8
what else is needed?

Depending on how you're gonna route the welding cable, you may need some protective tubing to put it through. I've always used the clear rubber tubing from Bunnings in the irrigation section, as the rubber is a harder and more durable.
Also might need a distribution block under the bonnet, lugs/terminals for the earthing side in the boot, etc.

Tools wise, it would be the usual. Drill, drill bits, one of those metal brush attachments for sorting the ground, mounting nuts & bolts etc.

I used a run of 2AWG, then upgraded to 1/0 oversized with a single fuse. What you've selected would work fine, but most people just go for large car audio cable as it's cheaper.

You only need one fuse/circuit breaker, it is to protect the wire rather than anything else. I went with a 300a fuse because overkill, and I had it left over from my sound system.

I'd suggest making an extra large ground in the boot and upgrading the engine ground at the same time, because you may as well while you're there.

Just wondering what people are using when doing a battery relocation in the engine bay to use for jumper terminals

one of these, mounted on the chassis. bolt your wires that went to the positive terminal on te battery to it and bolt the zero guage to it. thats your jump point like standard

I bolted my positive run directly into the fuse box. It took a little bit of modification as my lug was excessively large, but it looks so tidy.

Negative I just shortened down to where it bolts to the chassis.

Bumping up an old post. Finally getting ready to finish off This project. I’ve run my earths and power cables.
My question is what’s the best way to secure the batter box to the boot.
