Gday, I'm from SYD, my name's Jack and I am looking to buy a Legnum. I'll be honest, I've seen them on the streets and used to confuse them with stageas.

So Yeh I'm noob, but I've been trying to read up what I can over the past fortnight.

Thanks to whichever moderator accepted me. I saw a list of threads unclepaulie said to read on another new guys thread. I've read half of them so far, it's a fair list.

In terms of shopping around, can I pls get some advice on a Legnum I saw listed on carsales today..http://carsales.mobi/cars/details/?R=17082427
It seemed like some value.

Hope that link works. I'm waiting back from csales to get in touch with the seller. And hey big sorry if I'm not to mention another website on here. I've got 2 weeks off work so I'd like to get one of these "Leggy" rides.

I am gonna cruise around the forum trying to find out more stuff. Thanks everyone, hope you had a good Christmas too.

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you found the welcome template, I'll chuck it in your intro thread for ease of finding again ;)

Don't recognise that car in carsales, possibly not a member. I'd he more inclined to buy a car off the forum with full history of all major issues being dealt with, oh and buy a manual. Most auto owners either end up regretting the auto or getting a manual conversion. Whatever you buy, ensure the major service has been done, wavespring if auto and clutch if manual. Rear main oil seal replaced while the box is out also helps save future expense.

Plenty of good info in the below threads.

Take KMs with a grain of salt on any import.

More importantly you need to make sure that it has had the timing belt service done, otherwise you will need to get it done and it isn't cheap.

oh and buy a manual. Most auto owners either end up regretting the auto or getting a manual conversion.

*Most*, the auto actually performs very well and isn't as bad as all the manual owners make out.
It is much easier to find an auto - you will just have to put up with all the manual owners giving you shit :D

Welcome Jack. That car has been for sale for a long time. Was asking too much for it previously. But parts may have been removed to lower the price. Plus it's auto ha ha:LOL:
We can comment on all the cars for sale on our website, we'll know them, plus were a pretty honest bunch and will tell you any issues with the car that need attention.
Any questions just ask

Ah that's handy to know jungle I do appreciate it. Just a quick look at the modifications it sounds impressive, frontmount, gauges, exhaust, I can see a soundstream amp in one of the pics.

But, from what I've read from the suggested threads I need to know about the AYC, what service has been done on the auto transmission, the ball joints/LCA, the top radiator and of course basics like the water pump and timing belt.

It'd be hard to tell if the 110 000kms are genuine, and if the major service has been done. But once I get the number I can just ask. It does say however that services/mods were done at top secret performance in blacktown.

Went to their website and they sell Ferraris, evos and gtr skylines. Hmmm... I'm now looking forward to a conversation with the seller.

That's the best best. Make sure if the work was performed by a workshop you see the service papers for it.
Ask lots of questions and confirm the mod state of the car.

Did you want it as a daily or a car that's used sparingly?

You should shop around on the forum first and see what's up for grabs. Some are worth traveling out of state for, or I'm sure someone might go look at one for you if it's near them before you waste time flying down

Good luck on the search Jack. I found my Galant off this very forum and it's always good to look at what the members put about their cars. This is the best place to get any advice and the people here are always happy to help out.

Welcome and don't be a stranger :)
