Hey guys,

Names Sean! Bought myself a 1999 Galant VR4 from NSW about 2 weeks ago now and absolutely loving it!

Currently living in Cockatoo which is east of melbourne. I used to drive a magna until i wrote it off. Not doing anything silly, just wrong conditions of both road and car.

Basically just joining up to learn a bit more about my car and what kind of seen the VR4 forums are =)

Special thanks to Wendnarb for helping me sign up as i joined about 4 weeks ago but i wasnt approved by the mods until he asked them =)

Welcome on board Sean. I love driving through Cockatoo, we'll have to do a cruise up through there some time soon.

Let us know if there is anything you need to know about your car that you cant find an answer too on here, but that's fairly unlikley seeing how freaking cool this site is :D

The roads up through cockatoo are great! Especially the windys from avonsliegh to cockatoo.

Heres some photos of my ride! Bought it from a dealer from nsw offof ebay! Its in great nick considering its age. Not sure if it was a previous member or not.

Thanks guys, going in for its road worthy as we speak.

I know it needs tyres, seat belts, drivers side engine mount and a globe for the headlight and foglight. Can anyone tell me which globes it need?
 
Bad news.... Car has been in a rear end accident and has chasis rail damage. Currently working out with the dealer what he's going to do about it.

i think he meant the car had an accident and was fixed and then sold "as new" but sean is only finding out about it now

id say he means the car was in a rear ender in japan and the dealer bought the car either crashed and fixed it dodgy or the dealer bought the car with out knowing of the previous history and sold the car to him and he has found that chasis damage..

Hahahaha.

So currently talking to a mechanic in NSW who is going to look at the damage and deem whether or not it would have passed a road worthy in NSW or not. If it wouldnt, then the dealer is willing to pay to get the damage repaired. If it doesnt, i am still going to do my best to get something out of him as this car is just not safe if i got hit up the rear, the whole rear end would just crumple.

Hopefully it wont pass as then i have some ground to stand on. Otherwise i will seriously think about legal action.
 
Damn, sorry to hear that your start in 8G Galants/Legnums isn't the most stellar thing...

I would, but I'm heading to nsw. Authors seat is a bad omen for me, hit a guard rail in my old car due to failing abs and a friend was standing on one of the walls and slipped down to the little bungalow thing on the right!
