Hello,.

So I am 3 months late but here is my mega story.

So I was looking at a Toyota Aristo then 2 days before I went to look at aristos I thought "what about a legnum..." Leather, twin turbo and wagon, so I can sleep and put my surfboards in the back, good talk worridge! Ticked all boxes bar toyota.

However, I grew to love the machine on what I hope, might have been the longest trip a legnum has done?(I noticed Lasiorhinus drove from Perth back to Darwin). I would like to thank first of all Trev aka Godzilla for selling me such a fine vehicle.

-So I flew from Perth to Brissy

-Drove from Goldy to Boomerang beach NSW. Then surfed for 2 days at Boomers drove to Newcastle.

-Left Newcastle at 6am a few days later headed to dubbo then onto broken hill and settled up for the night. (didnt surf in broken hill :p)

-Left Broken hill around 9am and drove to Whyalla SA, met up with an old buddy I new through motorsport. Blotto took me and my mate Kade for a tour through onesteel Whyalla. (Big industry is impressive!!!) After our tour we drove to Streaky Bay. Streaky bay was awesome.

-We left streaky bay early saturday morning to reach the world famous Cactus surf break in SA. To quote Bruce Brown (Endless Summer) "The surf was GANGBUSTERS!"
We didnt hang around cactus long, we were concerned the whites might get a taste for us, there was only 2 of out at the beach.

-Saturday after noon we continued across the nullabor (amazing!) to Cocklebiddy WA.

-Sunday morning got up real early and drove to Perth, home sweet home to find an old Porsche in my driveway, score!

All in all awesome trip, one of the best things I have done in my life and it was only 4 days. It was up there with riding my CBR 600rr round BC canada, but better cause it was in our own country, I never knew how little we knew of our country I just assumed it was all like the eastern seaboard.

So, then got it over here happy as larry. Took it to the pits to get it road worthied and regoed. They pulled me up on absolutely everything. It was as if they thought they were half bred race scrutineer's.

So my car's first mod was WA number plates and what an expensive one.

-rotors/pads
-remove tint
-buy stock coilovers
-Tyres
-tie rods.
+ more but they were the major's

But shes sound as a pound now bar one squeak, which I will get to the bottom of. And I am proud to say that I now part of the VR4 clan and love it.

Please enjoy my photos of the journey.

Thank you for having me and reading my introduction.

Matt

forgot to thank Hank Scorpio for all his help while I was fighting for rego, cheers juddy.

Epic story. Welcome! I think you'll like it here.

Love the Porsche. Got any more info on it?

Welcome, Matt!

That's one massive road trip!

After seeing how much you paid for PULP, I think I'll stop complaining about petrol prices for a while.

Yeah old mate snapped his clutch cable and left his bus. card on the windscreen, my neighbour told him I was away.

He luckily broke down and pulled into the right driveway I had all the tools and helped him fix it the following week.

Awesome trip! I think you had the longer drive- by about 100km!
The Nullabor is an incredible drive- I did that myself a year or so ago.

How did you find fuel economy? I seemed to get good economy on high speed cruising more so than sticking to 110. Fold g the wing mirrors in helped. I wished I had cruise control though.

So nice to see the ol' girl again!

Was wondering when you were going to finally pop your head in.

How are you Matty?

Wow, what a cool trip. So sad to hear about the hard time they gave you when you got it back. Cannot believe you weren't allowed to keep the coilovers. I, in the 2 years plus driving that car around, never has an issue with the tint. They must be pretty strict over there? I loved that tint :(

So all in all, how did she perform on the trip over? I think i remember you saying you were having cooling issues?

What is on your mod list next mate?

Nah it was just that cannister thing you told me about. I can put the coilovers back on but I like my back side to be cushioned, its a bit smoother as a daily driver that way.

Next mod is a radar detector im doing miles each weekend to stay at my house down in margaret river and I dont wanna rack a whole heap of 9km/h and under fines. ($75 bucks each)

Also thinking about some stocky rims to save the good sneakers for cruises and sunny days.
Hows the midnight runner going? all straight and shiny now?

Wow, nice write up mate! $1.94? Fuck me :O

It's a shame they ripped on you at transport as that car is in top nick... enjoy! :)

Wow great cruise. Look forward to catching up on a cruise. Your porsche?
