*sigh* I'm an idiot, I misread condenser as compressor
I had a crack in mine years ago, I was lucky enough to manage to get a second hand one from a wreck and it's been perfect ever since.
Fortunately the condenser in the VR4 is the same part used in a heap of other vehicles:
The part number is MR216132. An alternative part number is MR513005. It also has the following OEM part numbers:
Nissens: 94702
AVA: MT5106
BEHR: 8FC351024-151 & 8FC351038-471
DPI: 4965
C&H: CH-4101
Core size is 685 x 345 x 18 mm
The cheapest I was able to find with a quick search was this one, which would set you back just shy of $235 due to shipping from Germany. Or you could try contacting Radiator Direct and see if they have one locally, but I expect that will be unlikely. Alternatively if you like hunting you could try searching against the vehicle models listed above and you might find something secondhand somewhere (particularly if you look on the Japanese parts auction sites).

Yeah a guy 10 kilometres down the road had an old one lying around in his garage. It was a struggle squeezing that thing in front of the radiator but got there in the end with 2 pairs of hands. Aircon never worked when I bought the car so it was a bit of a gamble, but got it re-gassed and it works well..
