Hey guys,

Just thought id introduce myself quickly. I currently own a 94 calibra, but have been looking at upgrading for quite sometime and have my eyes set on a vr4 galant (preferably 98 and above).

Not sure if i will take the road of importing or privately buying it. I dont have too much knowledge in importing but from what ive been reading up on here people have done well and seem really satisfied with the importers through this site. Also not many vr4 galants get around in SA privately unfortunately that i have come across anyways so its looking either interstate buying or import.

Would love to have one by christmas time to treat myself after a few years of studying at uni....with plenty to go unfortunately still however!

Any directions would be much appreciated of course :)

I didn't really want to import but ended up going through Iron Chef Imports based on the quality of service that he provided when importing my friends cars and from what have seen of his operations over the years.

Importing gives you A LOT more options and at a better price, the Dollar/Yen is also very good at the moment.

What are you studying/finishing?
 
Yeah i dont really want to import either, but atm it is looking like the better option to get exactly what i want. I might shoot Iron Chef a message/call and see where to go from there.

I'm studying psychology (honours) at Uni SA, currently in third year and meant to do honours next year but have to finish off some subjects as i took some time off this year.

Had a quick read of your thread Andrew, congrats on the purchase and of course finishing up on the engineering degree, must be a very stressful time atm, at least its coming to an end soon though ey!
 
Welcome to the site Faust. You'd do well talking to Kristian (Iron Chef) about importing exactly what your looking for rather than settling on something local.

I've bought both my VR4's through him and will probably be going back for thirds now that my missus has been driving my Galant and has fallen in love with it. :P

and dont blame the mrs for falling in love with the galant, lets be honest its an excuse to add one to the collection ay!
