Anthony that sounds about right - there's a lot of work involved in making up a new loom from scratch. Even splicing two together will take a lot of time just in testing. Obviously by far your best bet is to find an existing one to fit, but if you've got no options you'll have to go the custom route.

Have you tried to find out if you can get one from Japan?
