bumper repair shops

Can anyone recommend a good bumper repair place? From what i've heard from panel beaters today its probs gonna need to be heat treated to get it back to shape.

ive been quoted 8-900 from a panel and paint place but in his words:
"we do high end cars here. bmw's, mercedes', porches, ferraris. if you just wanted a cheap job i'd go to (some place ive forgotten) where they just do everyday normal cars" :wanker:

the next place i went to was really honest and just told me they send all their stuff off to somewhere else, place called everlast in welshpool.

so if anyone has had a buckled/slightly torn bumper repaired and could recommend a place please let me know. i'm not looking to spend too much cause if i hunted around im pretty sure i could get one from nz eventually and mine could be bolted back on and not look overly bad for now.

Best not to get plastic bumpers repaired at a panel beaters.

Go see someone like The touch up guys that specialise in plastic bumper repair.
They do a great job.

yeh i saw the site for the touch up guys and was going to give them a call tomorrow. was just interested to see if anyone has had first hand experience with pplaces in wa and could recommend someone

lol sorry Matt but i dont think i would let you anywhere near my car if fire is the fix :-P

i took my cracked one to a local panel beater they said $500 for plastic welded and fixed and full respray i said fine do it and droped it off, 3 weeks latter they handed it back saying sorry couldnt fix it.

Now instead of just a cracked bumper i have a cracked warped and melted join that is going to need a whole lot more work to fix it :-(

just dont get it done at a small country place they just stuff you around :-(

well nothing really in wa of course. i found an auction on trade me for 2 rear doors, boot hatch including rear wing and rear bumper all in trigger mauve but i think shipping would be a huge hassle. so wanted to see what it'd cost to get repaired first. the bumper was also the only spot that had a bit of damage on it before. i think matt (syther) probably reversed the car into something while he was preparing it for me (he does a brilliant polish job btw).

cheers ant ill give them a call and find some quotes. bumper is off and in the back of the grandparent's patrol so ill just drive it round everywhere and find whatevers cheapest

Try the Bumper Shop in Welshpool. Thats where Trev was getting his front bumper done. To fix my front bumper, they were going to charge $600 including painting.
I thought that was pretty reasonable as most of you have seen how shocking my front bar is looking at the moment.

ive been given a rough estimate from the touch up guys, mobile service. considering ive already got the bumper off myself and i can refit it myself im looking at high 300's for heat treatment, plastic weld and respray, varying depending on how much needs to be sprayed

Well after being given the rough estimate i've now been told that because the bumper is creased in lots of places he probably won't be able to get a good result and has recommended i get a replacement.

i'll still take it round to some other places to get a second and third opinion but otherwise i'll have to look at options from nz.

looking at this which may get me some more spares i can either sell or store, depends how much to ship

I damaged mine in the same place... One place I went to told me it couldn't be fixed at all so now I'm emo and cbf getting it fixed so now mine is looking rather sad and bunky

Dan & Kel, speak to Edward at The Bumper Shop as Jess mentioned above, he specialises in repairing plastic bumpers and the only thing he can't fix is one that is missing pieces. I guarantee he can fix your bumper Dan.

There's also a place in the ACT called Everlast, which is useful for the east coast guys but not so much for us. They have stock of exchange bumpers for most models of cars, but they won't have one for ours.

thanks, trevor. i gave the bumper shop a call to see if i could send pics off just so he could tell me if the repair would be possible or not before i drove out there (busy uni time) but he insisted i must bring it in. so ill take it out there after wednesday when all my assessments have finished.

kel the other option is send an email to VR4WGN. hes quoted me roughly 500aus for one delivered from nz which i thought was pretty reasonable. only reason i havent already jumped on that is cause hes searching for one in trigger for me.
i got quoted 300 for labour only through a mates friend to get a respray so i didnt want to get one in any old colour and get it sprayed, that option is starting to add up a bit

What colour?

Mines sitting in backyard at the moment. Took it out to Antilag Cruise 21 but hasn't left lately... Getting eager to fix it asap

the bumper shop said he could fix mine butw as gonna come to 600-650 once painted and didnt include the other blemishes.

VR4WGN didnt have my colour so im going a full resprayed mint condition one from him for 700 but you could always ask him and see if he has one in the right colour, may be able to save on shipping if your quick and it gets sent with mine
