Anyone got a drivers side mirror glass for a cold spec car that they don't need. The one with the heating element in it.
In Sydney would be great

What was the cost if you don't mind me asking?
Came across new heated side mirror's for our cars on ebay from the UK. Cost of 2 mirrors and shipping was just under $70. Thought I'd give them a go as heated mirrors in Melbourne would be great with our frosty mornings.
Long story short, fitting them into the frame was terrifying, slightly oversized in the corners and oven heating was the only way to finally get them in.
There's a great write up on club vr4 on how etc but that was for existing mirrors with heated pads added.
This would've been the way to go, it took about 90 mins to man up and really cook the mirror frame at about 120 degrees in the oven. It actually took 2 of us to do this as handling the frame and mirror had to be done quickly and with some force.
They draw less than 1 amp each (about 14 ohms resistance) and work well. There is no way you can use the self adhesive backing as it grips while trying to position the glass in the frame.
Anyone looking at doing this should buy some heater pads around 16 watts watts readily available on eBay and use your own mirror's to avoid the heartache and drama.
In addition to the above issues, fitting the glass and frame back in was a problem as the lower lock-in tabs had misaligned due to the heat, they had to be heated with a heat gun and realigned. The image below is a guide for the size of heated pad you can use.
