Got myself a DSLR finally!

I finally scored a DSLR camera. I got an ex-govt Canon 30D (body plus battery and charger) for $199 hmy:.

My mate has a 40D and is a serious photographer so he lent me a basic 50mm lens and I've been going crazy with it. Just getting used to the whole apeture(sp) vs shutter speed and all the myriad of controls these things have.

I'm starting to get the hang of it and here are some I took today:

It's my nephew, he's awesome as hell!

These are pretty compressed, but the originals are crystal clear. The multi-shot function is awesome for those one-in-a-million shots

I picked one up last year, even using lazy modes (on the dial), the images are sooooo much better, clearer and you find yourself trying to take better shots (if that makes sense)

Enjoy it, its a whole new world!

Do you mind if I ask where one buys ex-government cameras? I would love a DSLR but they are just so freaking expensive brand new >.<

The deal I got is over, but it looks like there's always a few going on. I'll be keeping an eye out for a good, compact point and shoot camera too.
