I did a test to Perth.... then decided 0.76 down and 1.7 up was pretty poor and not worth posting

I found extreme speed difference when I played with the settings abit; like changing DSL modulation to Annex+M as well as custom MTU rate of 1400. Seemed to sustain a better connection and throughput.

All depends how far you are from your local exchange. Google maps is a good way to find out.

1) search for your local exchange with the whirlpool forum website
2) Google maps your local exchange to your house and take note of the distance. (obviously just an estimate, but still a good gauge)

Also what is your sync speed ? this should be in the modem settings/status

yeah im much closer to Brisbane, like 1.5 hours. that is weird.. when i changed to Brisbane the results were worse.

We moved into the blistering world of ADSL1 when moving to Terrigal. Still can't get ADSL2 here.
