just ignore this

looks like the diff casing from my pintara :D
...well the colour anyway.. just a bit smaller :P

I reckon its a gearbox bellhousing.

I know, your putting a 2 speed powerglide in the Leggie ?

judging by the look of it.. its a 2spd from a 1970 commodore, lol

i was thinking bell housing too with the starter motor mount point

ok its some thing to do with your auto, i remember you saying it was shit.. am i rite?

Hey Joe, judging by the size of it he would have to put it in the rear hatch !!

looks cracked too.. bottom right hand part of the opening in the first pic.

Wow you guys are really good, but the points go to Hawks for getting it first.
It is the bell housing and it is for a truck I am getting parts for. The vehicle is a little strange and I have had problems with the American parts dealer explaining what I need and image sharing, so hopefully this works.
As for the vehicle it is a WWII 1944 White halftrack. It is being fully restored by our trusted mechanic and is to be used soon in a Speilberg-Hanks telemovie called 'The Pacific' which is being shot in Australia.
Here are some pics.

What about putting a OZVR4 sticker on the back of it ?

Hmm.... I wonder if it would make it in to the movie? What a pisser if it did :D

hahaha... I could just see it now.. the troopie turns a corner and there on the rear is a big OzVR4 sticker... hahahah.

Hide it beneath a unit insignia so it kind of blends in. I take it they don't need any Japanese soldiers as extras? :D Seriously, you have to wonder where they keep/find all these for the movies and re-enactments.
