I do have a soft spot for the Aristo, but you can't beat the good looks, 4wd, handling and speed that the Legnum has. It is the best all rounder out of Japan ever.
however not sure if im getting a wagon or sedan, it just has to be automatic
aristo - getting a tad old now ,stilll good pimp car and in my price range
skyline r34 - d turbo or non turbo ?, only problem is they are theft magnets
stagea - good load carrying capacity but thirsty as, maybe a 2wd isnt thirsty ?
jzx100 chaser - nice but out of my price range and the interior sux !
v35 250gt - very nice luxo car but cant find much info re specs/performance/fuel economy etc
legnum/galant - an unknown to me, thats why i signed up AYC scares me if it fails and need to know more about these automatic trans problems
The AYC isn't much to worry about. The diff itself is very reliable, the pump does wear over time, and a cheap replacement pressure switch is available which gets around that.
The auto's tend to fail if the oil is the wrong type, or if it isn't changed enough.
In Australia you will prob need a trans cooler (pretty cheap) and regular servicing like you would with any import auto, but like Brad says, make sure you use the right trans oil!
AYC can be a scary thought if it breaks (mine got done under warranty, YAY!!), but it is an item well worth having. It makes windy roads seem non existant whether it be wet/dry/dirt/snow......
Its like anything though, look after it and it'll last longer!
Yeah I did, about a month ago I reckon
my name was Steve ( im on your mailing list too )
You imported a v35 300gt for my mate a few months ago ( he also inquired about a century - god knows why hahaha )
a few years have passes and an epic update
had a wrx wagon ( bugeye ) - with some nice upgrades - totalling to about 190awkw , tuned by SJ auto *these guys know their stuff*
but now its time to sell, definately need an automatic wagon
stagea and legnum come to mind.
ps
anyone want to buy a nicely modded wrx wagon ?
which model to get is the next decision
definately would like leather - are they heated seats ?
and the most reliable model too - the wife will need to drive it..
