Sometimes after driving reasonably hard or racing,when I turn my car off [5 min turbo timer] if I start it up again it splutters quite bad for a minute or so. Could this be the oxygen sensor playing up?

Pretty common this - Not 100% sure on the cause but it seems related to heat soak into the inlet runners/plenum and sometimes a slightly sticky idle stepper motor. As you say it just needs a little while to clear it's throat.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the idle stepper motors be cleaned, K?

They certainly can. Just unbolt and spray with some carb/FI cleaner.

Also make sure that you dont force the "piston in and out as the computer will know where it last was and were it is suposed to be and will cause some idling problems for a few minutes. If you have done this slowly build the revs to 3k and hold for 15sec and repeat 3-4 times. Well this works for magnas not sure about legnums and gallants mabey Trev or Brad will know more.
