hey fellas just a question is the stock interrcooler good enough? cause i was thinking just doing hard piping for the stock cooler! does it flow ok and is ther a need to change it. would hard piping make a differance or just a wast of time.

thanks fellas

IMO the stock cooler is good for minor mods. If you want to run a bit of boost etc it will be ok, but obviously you will benefit from an aftermarket cooler. I am running 14psi with the stock cooler no probs and car is quite good. having said that, i will be upgrading to an aftermarket one.

I'm not sure it is worth going to the trouble of hardpipes with the stock cooler, but if you can get them cheap enough, then why not.

Buzzpuppy has fitted an X3 motorsports cooler and is running boost and says that the power difference and delivery is much better, well worth the money.

the stock intercooler appears to be bad flowing if you look at the design.. in the top pipe, down the fins, and out the bottom pipe... kinda like a Z shape airflow..
Ill be getting a cooler around the same time i get the piping hopefully
