Hey guys i was wondering if European parts would fit ours cars as i was telling my sister back in Europe that i got a new car and guess what she had a vr4 for 4 years now i got a shock BUMMER lol but mines nicer.

But her husband knows a supplier so he might be able to get good price i don’t know still waiting.
If he can i would get the first delivery of 100,000 service parts in 3 weeks or so.

Would only have 20kg limit for the first load and then few weeks later another 20kg
anyway im going off topic here.

So would they fit?

Here is what i asked for and if they can beat Rally Art New Zeland prices

Timing Belt (MD318814) AUS $126.50
Timing belt tensioner pulley (MD316826) AUS $32.30
Timing belt idler pulley (MD179597) AUS $38.60
Water pump (MD302010) AUS $231.50
Alternator belt (MD184973) AUS $34.10
Power steering belt (MD317142) AUS $21.55
Thermostat (MD337408) AUS $24.20
Top radiator hose (MR212528) AUS $18.85
Bottom radiator hose (MR212529) AUS $23.35

MEEK in NSW bring in aftermarket timing belts & water pumps for our cars. I brought in a personal OEM timing belt & they used that to source an aftermarket one.

Just on your sis' car. Are you sure that's a VR4 mate ? Got no doubt it's an 8G Galant, but doesn't look like a VR4. Really small wheels & no foglights & it's got a silver grill which by default would indicate one of the lower spec models.

Got any pics of the rear of her car or of the dash ?

Not sure but they say that it has around 300 hp so think it must be it!

What is it then? im sure they are not lying about the horse power as her Husband works for a car service franchise so he would know ( They never stated thats its a VR4 just the HP so just assumed) what could it be then?

Sorry for not explaining myself well.

And more importanly would euro parts fit?

Cheers

i think it's the GDi... since it's got 4 stud on the wheels

and the front butmper and grill is identical to the VR-G and GDi

its not a GDI,
its a USDM, they never had GDI's or VR4's

they had 2L I4 or a 2.5V6 which was 6g7x motored, no 6a13

and they where all FWD so that why the HP can be so high,
no 4wd loss's,

not be mean,
but there probibilly working on american/ricer HP (unless theyve sunk alot of cash into it)
stock HP +20% for pod +25% for rear muffle etc.

they had various names GTI GSX etc..

Pretty sure its 200HP not 300.
Like carsten said its the US model. No sign of intercooler on front so unless thay have supercharged it in the states no chance of 300HP.
With parts as I am in kyrgyzstan its a matter of what fits goes in.
For example my cam belt was 234 teeth by something wide and not sure what car its branded for but it was identical to my factory belt that came from japan. Works perfectly so as long as part numbers match up then its ok to go in.
EG our shocks are also for mitsy eclipse and some other car so many parts are interchangable pads another example, evo or diamante.

Facelift Manual 400hp VR-4 Legnum
It may be a Euro model because it has the twin headlights, the US ones only have a big single lens. The chrome that runs along the bottom of the windows does point to a USDM car though because they commonly had chrome running down there. It only has 4 studs and has the entry level front bumper, so it isn't a VR-4.

Show us a pic of the engine bay, and dash! The only way it would have 300hp is if someone did a VR2 conversion on it.

Hey Taraska

She live there, our familly is split in half one there another side here.
How do you know the names of the cities mate?

On the ther topic i got some initial quotes and it seems like there is 15 - 40 % saving on part prices over there?

Sounds Promising but still have to wait but for a major service as a family memeber it looking like 40% saving

They were able to find my car via VIN number and Engine number and then mached the original parts so it sound ok.

I was thinking that if people could save money maybe they would be interested in sending more regular ocations
