Correct
Crank is already ground. Just need money for pistons and rods.
And an ECU for my car so i can actually run this thing

Na need a aftermarket ecu to run it on the engine dyno.
Pistons probably 600ish. Rods 1200 (2x 4cyl sets)
Then all the machine work on the block and heads gaskets bearings etc.

Have stripped a block finally.
20190508_094316.jpg

Have rethreaded the head bolt threads to M11x1.25 to use 4G63T head studs. And test fitted the stroker crank with the dummy piston and rod which @ TDC produced absolutely spot on piston height.

20190522_181149.jpg

I also ultra sonic tested the bores. They are hell thick, thickest I measured was nearly 10mm. Thinnest was 4.5mm
The 4.5mm still leaves enough material to bore to 84mm which will give 2.8L
However i will build this as a 2.63L to start with as I already have the 81.5mm pistons.

20190522_171811.jpg

Next step is to buy head studs and main studs to so I can line hone the main tunnel and torque plate bore and hone the cylinders to suit the oversize pistons.

Also to machine the piston skirts to clear the crank counterweights due to the longer stroke, also check the valve pockets are in the right place, possibly may need to cut the valve releifs radially larger.
Then weight match the pistons after machining.

Someone needs to buy some cams off me so I can afford to buy parts and a gasket kit ;)

From which Nissan are the rods? Pistons are 4AGZE right? How much power do you think these new internals will be able to handle?
Block seems strong any idea of the hardness?

Rods will be custom made. Cheaper than way than modifying the nissan ones.

Hardness was 240ish.

Custom stroker rods are here. Next step machine the skirts of the pistons and the counterweights to clear eachother and machine the valve pockets to suit the valve angle of the 6A13TT.

Rods are obviously so so much beefier than the stock toothpicks and it only comes at roughly a 21.5 gram weight penalty.

Got some head studs and main studs. Also some main bearings
Now I can torque the main tunnel up and fit the torque plate and machine the block.
Once the pistons fit in the holes i can finalise the ammount the piston skirts need to be trimmed.
Slow progress but getting there

After a pretty hectic end to last year and start to this year ive finally got back into this project.
Made a piston vice, so now i can modify the valve releifs in the pistons to suit the 6A13TTs valve angles and spacing.
Block is bored. Honed, surfaced and line honed.
Just need to clearance the crank and send that off to be balanced (probably need some tungsten slugs to make up for the heavier pistons and rod combo and the longer stroke) and I should have a short block together soon.

Couple of quick pics

And just for shits and giggles heres the 6A13 next to my RB26 block im building right now.

Valve releifs are easy. I still need to clearance the piston skirts to clear crank counterweights to allow the extra stroke.
As far as I'm aware prism doesn't make 6a rods anymore. But I had mine custom made. The crank pin is smaller than stock being an offset ground crank. The piston uses a larger pin. And the rod C2C length is not stock because of the pistons different compression height and the cranks extra stroke.

I have currently being building a RB26 to sell, hopefully GTR tax will allow me some money to finish off some 6A13 stuff!

Yes, i'm aware. I thought you were using the nissan rods. Custom then, nice!

Progress

Finally found some time to get this underway again.

First up after my last post where i measured the valve layout I machined the piston crowns to accept the V6 valve geometry. Checking radial clearance as I went with plasticine.

After that was done I machined the skirts for counterweight clearance. (STD LEFT, machined RIGHT)
20210311_164816.jpg

That was all the machining required on the pistons but qfter it was done I took one to IEE (Innovative Engines and Enineering) and had the piston 3D scanned so in the future I can write a CNC program to pocket the pistons in future.

20210315_160152.jpg

20210315_162205.jpg

Then I rough machined the counterweights on the crank to clear the gudegon pin boss on the piston at BDC then took the crank back to the crank grinder to finish grind them so the weights werent all overthe show manually milling it.
Again something that will be done CNC after the first engine is running and proven.

Finally I weight matched the pistons to within .02g same with the rods.
Hopefully the crank will be back from balance this week and I can gap the rings and assemble the shortblock

Then its a matter of porting some heads and waiting for gaskets to arrive from japan and we should have the first stroker motor running mid this year.

Well I've been doing some planning and I've come up with a plan to do stroker engines.

Offset grinding a stock crank to give 3mm extra stroke combined with nissan conrods and toyota pistons gives you 2.6L

Or if you go 1mm oversize pistons 2.66L dispacement is possible

Rods would cost about 900

Pistons will be between 600 and 700

Stroking the crank will be around 500

Then you have all the usual costs of engine builds

Rings, bearings, gaskets, seals boring, honing etc etc.

I am yet to test the block for stroker clearance to make sure the rod isn't going to hit the inside of the crankcase.

But its looking like a real possibility and do able for about the same price as what it would cost to build a regular forged stock stroke engine rods and pistons are cheaper but they require machine time to fit correctly onto the crank.

If anyone is keen let me know. I will probably build a motor for myself and sell on my already built engine which is in my white legnum to fund this but it could be a possibility for me to sell off the shelf forged stroker motors in the future if there is enough intrest in this
Hey mate so you have cranks to regrind or you need our crank this is very interesting to me

I do have one spare crank yes. The long motor is assembled the heads are ported. The car this engine is going into is currently at the fabricators having the single turbo manifolds and downpipe made. Then in February i should have it back to do the fuel system, and finish the wiring for the link ECU. So hopefully not too long before this is running and I get some numbers off it.
