Wondering what is the best method to clean out a cooler's core?

I have read about some "green stuff" which apparently is bad for the aluminum; as well as using kero or metho to slosh back and forth a few times, then rinse well with a hose.

Any actual insight from anyone who has done it?

I notice alot of people saying about taking it a radiator shop and having it pressure tested as well as tub cleaned. But I'm choosing to not spend the money if I can. :)

First thought would be maybe high pressure water spray? I dunno, that's just a guess.

Try some degraser or dishwashing liquid... Even carby cleaner/aerostart would prob work...

degreaser or anything that will evaporate.

Just drown the thing and swish it around and empty it out.

Do that a few times then hang it out to dry.

block one end up, pour a small amount of petrol in the other end...swish it around and then drain...repeat 2-3 times...and then rinse with water and sit to let it dry.

works a treat!

The FMIC really shouldn't ever have anything in it besides compressed air right?

Are you cleaning it because of a bit of corrosion or something?

perfectly normal for a turbo car to 'breathe' oil into the intake via the crankcase ventilation system is being driven at high rpm/load for a decent period of time - like on a racetrack.

that's why people fit catch cans

oil in your intercooler is bad because it acts as an insulator
