so my bolt for the drivers side headlight is stuck shooting into the sky and the bolt wont lower or raise it, any solutions or is it 'pull apart the headlight' type scenario?
The base of the HID build is thicker than the base of a stock bulb. Usually the HID is made of plastic about 3-5 mm whereas the halogen bulb base is metal and only about 1mm thick. So when people convert it they force the pin shut which bends it.
If you can move the bulb around in the housing it sounds like the pin is bent. Easy to fix, take the pin out and reshape it with some pliers
The retaining pin is mounted on the inside of the headlight by one gold Phillips screw. You can remove it with the headlights installed but it's a bit risky getting the screw out without dropping it. So I would recommend removing the headlights. Unscrew the pin and then reshape it using some pliers. Then refit and see if the bulb is more secure
