i just called a few wrekers 4 a second hand hub and they say there is no differnce betwen the 1996 vr4 and the non turbo model is this true???

Just watch out - good chance they will be thinking of the Aus Delivered 1996 - ie the 6a12 N/A and the import 1996 6a12tt models.... as they were still being made early 1996.. When asking for parts from ANYONE i ALWAYS say i have a 1997.... as then there can be no mistake lol

Dose anyone have the part no. for the front wheel bearings ?

can I suggest to buy hub and bearings from ebay? i bought mine from ebay in US last time costed me under $100, especially with the current strong AUD.
Fitted them in 3-4 hrs and results are good.

Yeh, thanks man,

How long have you had it in for ?

Reviving this thread rather then posting a newie.

A little confused on the proper part number for the front LH/RH wheel bearing hub kit.

Camskill shows two different part numbers
MR334386 - MR403970 MR491037 MR369519

and

MB949097 MR455004 (double the price of MR334386!)

Bill confirmed that MR455004 has superceded MR334386...

Whats even more confusing is that MR455004 fits the delica and MR334386 fits Talon Ecilpse USDM / Lancer (sold on ebay for $100 for a pair!).

Can anyone confirm the part numbers?

I have a pair of unused brand new bearings if anybody wants/needs them.

ended up jumping on clubvr4.org and ordering the TIMKEN brand the following via Rockauto.
will post up on how they go once i have them on.

1998 MITSUBISHI GALANT 2.4L L4
TIMKEN
partno 513157
Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly
$ 68.79$ x 2 =$ 137.58S
ShippingFedEx International Priority$ 102.42
Order Total $ 240.00

Ebay Seller "qualityoneautoparts" does the Timkin bearings given above for $73 each but will do a good combined shipping rate of $75 bringing the price down. Just got both fronts delivered for $220.

Noting that the shipping price listed above from Rockauto is now $140 bringing their price up.

Has anyone recently installed new front wheel hubs? Doesn't seem to be much around , Febest between 60 and 140 or Japanese for $200 per side. Bearings are readily available and fairly priced but then you need someone with a press that knows how to use it.
The road noise coming through is driving me bonkers!
Never done one before on our cars, sounds like fun!

Hey Baba, i've got a proper hydraulic press for when we press bearings in for the trailer axles we do at my old mans factory, if you want a hand pressing in or out, feel free to give a shout.
