so i opened up my key and there was a little moisture in it and cleaned it out...and it works fine now!!!

In this post I believe it should have said remote central locking not keyless. Keyless is generally where you walk up and it unlocks without a button. Vr4s did not have that feature. Fixed for grammar police lol.

It was standard on the VR-4s.

I think you are getting confused with smart keys, any method of unlocking the car without inserting the key into a lock is called keyless entry.
