G'day all.
Does anyone have a photo or diagram of the manual gearbox that suits our cars? Need to do some bellhousing comparisons! :D

Cheers, Bart.

if you're thinking of an evo box, they are completely different. And no sorry, I don't have pics

Nope not an evo box. From a USDM Eclipse.

That could be an option, they use an auto gearbox that is very similiar to ours!

It will be interesting to see the outcome...

Sorry i can't help you at all but good luck!

My thoughts exactly. I Think its worthwhile exploring every avenue possible, im sick of the auto, and sourcing a manual box is almost impossible.

Cheers, Bart.

Some pics when mine was in bits

doupt the eclipse box would work, as its a 4g or 7g motor is'nt it

don't think the US had any versions of the 6A`s at all ??

you'd prob be better off modding a evo box to fit than anything else,
at least the 240mm fly/clutch combo will fit in the bell housing,
and the input shaft/spline will match the output shaft on the vr4

its fully possible to make it fit, just no one has,

dont foget the placement of the transfercase will also be important,
not just bolting it up.
and more than likely you will have to use the transfer from what ever gearbox you use,
and match the rear diff ratio.

i beleive the eclipse use's a 220mm (ish) combo,
and a different spline size/pattern

IMO...

either wait for a manual wreck and pay the price for parts that will fit with ease,
or sell up and buy a manual,

the USA didn't get 6A1x at all.

I also thought elcipses had their engine around the other way

It did use a 6G72 but only in FWD.

The only AWD versions used a 4G63 motor which i would assume would be coupled with an EVO box :(
