It just twists off anti clockwise.

Sounds like the base of the gearknob may be binding on the shift boot. Try stopping the top of the boot from rotating and keep unscrewing the knob. Unless it's aftermarket and potentially has grub screws.

They'll have to destroy the locknut. Tell'em to search again in the boot and check the spare wheel bay & the bag with the tools!

Locknut was destroyed, went up to vision r to pick up a new set yesterday =]

So i was driving this morning to work, and notice a different in the gallant, and just then when i drove back from work, the car ride in the galant still didnt feel right. Looking at my boost gauge the car isnt hitting boost, but over revs at a certain point like its struggling!?! any ideas!!?!

i would check your hoses, whats the vacuum gauge showing? should be around 20 or 21, lets just hope its not the clutch. barely hitting boost (2-3psi) at 50-60% throttle on 3rd gear for me turned out to be a dead clutch.

Well the car is running normal again now, going to change the oil this week, and save up for timing belt change. what engine oil does everyone recommend!?!

hey guys.

i was driving home today from friends house, suddenly my car started to struggle. everytime i pressed the gas down it wouldnt boost or go anywhere faster past around 35 - 40 kmh, was blowing black smoke and slowly as i mangage to get home, it just cut out and i had to turn the ignition back on and still struggle.

any ideas!?!
