Ooh nice, just got one of those last month too, 7203

My most recent box contained a new old stock Defi BF Link oil temp gauge in Fahrenheit. Was stoked I got it for $130 shipped. I’m fine converting between KM/H and MPH in my head, but I draw the line on Celsius to Freedom.

Same I have an extra USDM diamante climate control I plan to swap out so the hvac is in F lol. Where do you plan to mount this?

Probably between the a-pillar and the gauge cluster hump.

I’ll be doing the diamanté hvac when I ditch the MMCS this spring.

Sheesh what a haul I just receny got my 97 Vr4 up in DC.

I am very curios as to where you ordered your parts from mostly the Timing belt kit and water pump
I got the timing belt kit, 7202 ecu, plug wires off Jauce (Yahoo auctions bidding service) The belts off amazon the part numbers are located in the mega part thread. and everything else oem related off viamoto.

Now my car is home I’m comfortable with buying a diamanté hvac controller. Was hesitant because I had no way of testing functionality.

Snagged a really clean one off eBay.

Worst case the bulbs are bad or backlight is dim both are a easy fix. I did the same swap in my evo 4 plan to do the same with the legnum.

Decided to pave the way for standalone and ordered a plug and play kit for Link ECU. Securing the kit now, will have to sell at least one kidney for the ECU half. 🤦‍♂️

Why plug in? That immediately limits you to the functionality of the stock loom (3 coil drivers, no added sensors without external wiring)
Your far better off getting a wire in and redoing the now nearly 30 year old engine harness. More money upfront?yes, but you get a much better thing at the end of it

The money isn’t the concern, mostly it’s the time. Don’t have time to muck about making a harness, and the ecu is a wire-in, it’s just adapted to the OEM loom and fits in tue OEM ecu case. I want modest power, maybe 350ish at the wheels, and flex fuel to run the “e85” at the local pumps without needing to switch maps, mix, or any of the other nonsense. Was chasing down the flashed stock ECU route, but this was a much better plan long term. If I want to go full “wire in” standalone, I just remove the ecu from the plug and play kit and get wiring since it’s the same ECU.

Yeah a wire in with a patch loom is the best interim solution. At least then you have the option to ditch the patch loom and do a new harness down the road
