My friend the other day ask me this question which got my thinking "what happens if you take out your fuse for the AYC?"
I couldn't give him an answer, i said i would assume it would turn into a rear wheel drive.

What would happen if i pulled out the fuse, and what damage would it cause (if any), im really not to keen on taking it out and trying as you could imagine :p

It wouldn't turn rwd

It could possibly wreck the pump though

Hmm would it just act like an open rear diff maybe? If it stopped the rear diff working completely, it wouldn't be RWD anyway, it would be front

Mine was making a mad noise so I pulled my fuse. Just disables the system. You get an open rear diff.

When I had my tyre blow out last month, i chucked the space saver on and the AYC was permanently lit up.

I pulled the fuse out and drove 80 odd K's without any problems. Yeah, it just disables the system...it stops the pump altogether as far as I'm aware.
