Is there an option for a different diff say from an evo?
Or do I have to find another legnum rear?

rear diff issue's have been covered before.. do a search for 'rear diff'

I remember Josh (frozen) had recently replaced his AYC with evo 8+ S-AYC unit.. I believe same goes with non ayc units..

Is it just the casing that's stuffed or did something inside go bang that has then cracked it? I may be interested in a part of the diff if you're willing to take it apart (and it's not broken). If not, that's cool :D

How'd you manage that?

There have been a couple of diff's go now. Have a browse through the forum and you'll find out what your options are :)

2012 VW Caddy 1.6TDI 7-Speed DSG. Still crappy DSG.....
MEEK themselves suggest once the AYC goes, to steer clear of the SAYC & go to a LSD.

The teeth often do go when you are launching. The EVO 5-7 units have stiffer gears and the 8-9 units are also SAYC. Or of course you can go with an open Type V VR-4 diff (also available from 4wd non-turbo Legnums and Galants) or any LSD EVO diff.

Yeah i could have seen it coming miles away doing stupid shit like that..
But yeah if I can get my hands on some 'knowlage' on the ayc and a evo 7 sayc diff, would begin the painful process.

evo 7 is not SAYC, only 8+ is. it basically transfers double the torque, but be prepared as mine cost over $3000 installed, where as a regular VR4 diff installed would most likely set you back <$1000

Indeed, there is no such thing. EVO 8 introduced SAYC.

Maybe you are confused with ACD which came in with the EVO 7.
