Super high idle when cold

Hey guys, need a bit of help with my Leggy which lately has had a ridiculously high idle when I cold start it (~2000). Given that the weather's turning I'm guessing this is no good.

A bit of research suggests that it could be either a vacuum leak or a dodgy IACV, does that sound right or is there another potential cause here? If it is a leak, is there anywhere in particular I should start looking for it?

when the engine's warm, does it go down to 650/750rpm?

Yep, back to normal within a couple of minutes, sitting right around the 700 mark.

Also I should mention that it revs high immediately after firing up, you can actually hear it surge.

Sounds pretty normal to me. But I've only driven on ethanol for the last 4 years so I forget what it is normally like.
