Hi everyone,

I was planning to get myself a set of TEIN GT Wagon coilovers because it would allow me to raise the Legnum as well as lower it (I have a lot of scraping issues I need to overcome).

However, it appears the GT Wagons have now been superceeded by I am attempting to find out what is now their replacement ??

I'm after the best set they have that will also let me raise the height of the car in addition to lowering it, but it seems there's more versions now.. & I can't locate the specs of the different versions..

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks,
Brad.

Ummm...you can still find GT Wagons on Yahoo Japan and here is one.

Otherwise you can go for Super Wagons, Basic Flex Wagon or Super Flex Wagon or here is a list that suits for Legnum EC5W - clicky

I couldn't find their specs though.

Hey yeah look... as far as i know... super flex wagons should be fine... but i guess it comes down to personal preference and the ride you want... the SFW are fully adjustable

Having driven a car that was raised past factory height (stupid roadworthy standards) I'd strongly recommend you never do it. The handling gets dangerous.

Lol..... I live in the country and have driven and experienced first hand what happens to cars that have been lifted!

Driven a roll-lux recently

No no it won't be raised for driving, but I have a lot of deep ditches & driveways to get in & out of & it's damn impossible to do without scraping the front bumper & it's getting really annoying.... so the suspension must be able to be raised.

Hmm.... what about if you have an EDFC controller kit ????

EDFC controls the stiffness. It is for the dampers not the ride height...

EDIT: Beaten.

There have been hydraulic Teins on Yahoo before but not for out cars. You could prob make them fit but it would cost thousands to get it all done.

You can get airbags fitted but it wouldn't give you any points in handling.

BTW, if you do go with Tein coilovers, I would go the Super Flex over the Super Wagon. The spring rates are too soft in the Super Wagons.

A mate has airbags in his Hilux. Cost and Fitment (Did a lot himself) was over $3500. Handling is OK but wouldn't bother doing twistys etc. He has drop spindles and a big tank with a high volume pump so it can jump around a bit. If you sacrificed those and made it slow you can save around $1000.

Brad, talk to a 4WD suspension specialist..... My mate who does my stuff in tamworth does airbag + spring combos (Not for Legnums though, only cruisers and hilux etc). You only get about 2 -3 inchs of variance but that would be enough for you yeah?

*EDIT - Somewhat like this.

Cheers Dawso will do. Do these systems have to be made to suit the vehicle in question though ? It sounds as though I could be going down a dead end street with this.

I saw this website after a quick google ;

http://www.ridetech.com/products/LevelPro_BIG_RED_MAX-846-37.html

But as above, would these be only for particular vehicles ?

(Christ I sound like such a newbie)

System has to be made for the vehicle yeah..... Custom fab joint like K-Mac might do it?

You would need a shortened shock, fitted spring with airbag for each wheel and still all the compressor gear for the bags.

The advantage is your handling won't get thrown out the window from doing it!

I reckon you should go with the minitruck bagged look but :)

I dare you
