Well, Steve started this with a Facebook invite at the OZVR4 group page, but I'd thought I'd introduce it here. Soooo, roadtrip?

$20.00 entry, starts at 9am and I'm going up. Katie's Dad (oh yeah, my father-in-law) lives up that way. Steve, you've met Katie's dad at the wedding too

So whaddya reckon? Let's get our arses organised for three weeks from now?

Might I suggest taking the Melba hwy through Yea instead of the Hume. The section between Yarra Glen and Yea is an awesome bit of road.

...although she's sick of me quoting "The Castle" when we get to a certain section of the route.

I'm flying out to Perth the next day for work in the afternoon though... so it'll be an early drive and then have to get back home!

Ok, so far with Steve, Ashneel and myself heading up, we need a meet-point that's easy for all of us. Something with preferably food/caffeine for that two and a half hour drive north.

It'll be a straight boring run up the Hume, joining at the top of the Western Ring Road but it'll be the quickest.

However, we can go via Yea for a much more interesting drive (that will add half an hour) through the Midlands Highway, the B300 Route as Pete suggested.

1) Let's say we start somewhere in Blackburn. Say, the Macca's on the corner of Springvale Road/Maroondah Hwy.

2) Get on the Maroondah Highway and just drive out towards Coldstream...

3) But then take the Melba Highway out to Yering, pretty much heading for Yarra Glen

4) Keep heading north up the Melba Highway until we hit Yea, then make a right up the Goulburn Valley Hwy

5) And we just keep going up the Midland Hwy, past Bonnie Doon all the way through Benalla

6) Great Success! Winton Motor Raceway!

...but for those who've already been to Winton, you know this route already
