What model is this funnel from!?

Got it from NZ via trade me, the spout area is a bit tight, but Gly suggested i get a heatgun and open it up a bit, so i'll give that a go tomorrow.
But what is the box underneath it?
I've seen the funnel off of a facelift and it didn't have this thing hanging off it?

It's open to the funnel as well, as you can see in the second pic theres a small hole through to it.
So whats it from? Pre-facelift? NA galant/legnum!?
and what purpose does it serve ..?

My ST-R has a growth like that as well, but not quite as big. I'm guessing it is from a 1.8 or 2.4 gdi

Its a speed hole, it makes it go faster.
I bought the airbox and AFM this just came with it
