Overview of the Fuel Gauge Recalibrator project

The fuel gauge recalibrator project was developed by OZVR4 forum member Kaldek who also operates the YouTube channel "KaldekBoch". Born out of a combination of frustration and a fairly odd obsession with fixing stuff and learning, the project took a whopping five years to be completed.

The recalibrator is based on an Arduino microcontroller board and some associated circuitry which cuts the wire between the fuel gauge and the fuel senders, intercepting these wires to read the fuel level and then send a falsified/calibrated signal back to the fuel gauge. With the recalibrator in circuit, the fuel gauge becomes much more accurate, allowing you to rely on the gauge for high accuracy down to about 6 litres of remaining fuel, and then trust the Low Fuel warning light for the final reminder that refuelling is required.
