also interested. lol where did you pull that $1800 number from christian?

i looked at evo oz and they have a kit for $1400, that is to suit the factory ecu.. so I guess $1800 is a good estimate :D

not trying to put you guys off.. but its better to be ready than be shocked with the price..

Do you think you can get a set of 6 of them cheaply, or are they quite small, or is there something else?

the evo kit Dave linked us to (GT pumps) is like $660. I wouldn't be wanting to pay much more than that

Chris, mind showing me the link? cause what I saw in EvoOz is quite different in terms of prices.. but I might actually have been looking at a different brand hence the price tag..

jet, I just had a look at the coils in the Haltech link.
Those are not what you want for this application.
What we are looking for is a coil-on-plug setup.
ie six individual coils.

The haltech website says "All variants are supplied with built in temperature protection". Im almost positive my misfiring is a result of overheating coils/leads, these Haltechs might be all we need.

Merlin with the Haltech you don't need a coil on plug setup. These are a much better coil than the standard.

Chris, that's not the ones I saw on evoOz, but I like the price :) and I think I prefer it because it uses Denso..

There's nothing to stop you using the single output one at the top of the page with an ecu that can drive 6 individual coils.

I think most of us would rather not change our ECU. Someone down in sydney hurry up and be the test dummy, us QLDers need better coils.. badly lol :)

I imagine you could drive two coils from one ecu output in a semi wasted spark setup. I.e. two coils fire at once even though only one is in the spark cycle.

test dummy to buy and fit a coil on plug setup, Dave said that Mark at GT pumps needs a car to have a look at so he can come up with a setup for our car. Or maybe Dave is thinking about doing this himself now? Im not sure

would it be better if we invite Mark to join ozvr4?
