Facelift Manual 400hp VR-4 Legnum
Had both types of gearbox on the floor today. The Auto was 108kg with torque converter and no oil in it. The Manual with clutch and flywheel was about 73kg with no oil in it. The Auto need more oil in it, about 6 litres extra, plus the extra loom and oil cooling lines, along with an extra ecu, lets add 1kg extra for all that, making the total about 76kg vs 117kg.

2000 Galant; metallic dark blue; manual; Recaros; Momo steering wheel; and sunroof!
Brad.

So the moral of the story is that if performance, light weight (and reliability) are important, then one is better of with a manual?

An extra 41kg with the auto is like carrying another (anorexic) passenger in the car at all times!
