Hi Guys,

Yesterday spent some time trying to install my boost controller that i got yesterday.

Its a HKS EVC 4 (5 in the US)

I am trying to find a suitable place to mount it however i can't. There is a spot at the back og the firewall however is VERY tight. The thing with the HKS unit is that it has to be pointing up.

So yeah suggestions please?

It looks like this

Its a coNtroller, not a coCtroller lol.... I editted the title so everyone didn't think you were some kind of Viagra spammer! ;)

You sure it needs to be facing up? I would just use the bolt that holds the factory solenoid....

I honestly can't see what difference it would make..... I wouldn't worry about it personally

Perhaps it uses gravity some how, and that's why they state it must be orientated in a particular way. Good luck with the install Tris.

Maybe you haven't got the power / accessories wired right if it is losing the setup. It should have 1 wire for constant 12v and 1 for accessory power (telling it the car is running).

You could have them both running off acc maybe. Think battery backup on a head unit.

This is all assumption btw.

there is only power and ground

i do not know and i am at the end of my tether.

I called 2 HKS dealers in AUS. One in WA and one in NSW. WA will call me back and NSW said to try disconnecting all the wires, leave it for 1 minute and reconnect. If it still shows error 100 then its faulty. I did this and it did not work however i have done it before, today even i just cannot do it again.

Somebody help me please.

Sounds a bit dodge, was it new or second hand. Are you sure you have the wastegate set to internal. And would also be worth checking the offset isnt some ridiculous value, high boost isnt lower than low boost etc.

Finally have you been through learn mode?

I can't set it up at all. It just tells me that error 100 shit

Waste gate is set correctly i am pretty sure.

Also it was second hand. got it through yahoo auctions

@ Dawso - want a HKS EVC 4 boost controller? Fully functional i swear. $7000 just for you :)

There is an inhibit function on them which stops you changing shit, could this be turned on?

On my 4 (US spec) i think you hold mode and change the wastegate type or sumin, yours will prob be different though.
