I don't have any issues. Roll the guards and you'll be fine.

235/40R18 is not stretched at all on my 9's, though that will vary a lot dependent on tyre manufacturer.

Also, those arch extensions are wak. I'd never get them, you don't gain any extra guard clearance. Roll and mildly flare the guards if you need to.

If you aren't scared of giving the guards some love, the 9.5 +35 WILL fit. the 8.5 +35 is a far safer/easier choice though...
