After a bit of a hard run, sometimes I hear the car kind of 'chugging' or like it is running a bit hard.. It doesnt do it for a long time, and usually stops after a little while..

I've been told that it is a water pump or something running to cool the turbos or something, but at the same time i wonder whether this is true or not..

Anyone else encounter the motor sounding like it is running something else a bit harder or whatever... I cant find the words to describe the sound in text form haha.. but yeah, hoping someone knows what im talking about and can reassure me of what it is!

At a guess, either something slightly out of alignment (possibly caused by worn bearings or guides?) or perhaps knackered lubricant causing occasional friction where there shouldn't be any... Have you replaced ALL the lubricants in the car recently?

Nah, but it is going in for a service on Monday, I'll get them to do that :)

could be an exhaust gasket or exhaust manifold gasket... they are known to leak under high load and high temps... will give a chugging noise too

even a broken stud on the exhaust manifold...
