Thanks goes to Kristian for this thread. I stole this from his SAU thread and it was he who did the hard yards to get these bad boys eligible for importation.

The JZS171/UZS173 Crown and Crown Majesta are now eligible in both sedan and wagon versions. Eligible motors are 1JZ-GTE (2.5L Straight 6 turbo, ala Toyota Chaser/Soarer) and 1UZ-FE (4L V8 ala Toyota Celsior/Lexus LS400).

Apparently cannot yet go out and import one tomorrow (Iron Chef will know all the ins and outs about this), but 12 months time we can see some more import wagons on the road!

Now I was planning on keeping my Legnum for quite some time but these are TEMPTING! Think of the HP, think of the dishy-dish!

Discuss OzVR4, discuss.

Hmm..It would be interesting to know the kerb weight.I like it though.I own a cressida as a daily..so used to toyota reliability and also the price of spare parts!

not feelin the wagz, but ill defintaly take my pants off for a sedan

I like the idea of a 1jz and wagon, so many strange cars available over there in Japan.

I came across the nissan gloria for the first time. Talk about VIP pimp spec.

Nice 3lt turbo engine and costs $13k

Ugly light grey dash and seats though on that nissan. One of my favourite things about VR-4's is the dark interior.

I like that Crown Majesta wagon a lot. What mods are available on the 4l V8? Does anyone do a super charger kit or anything for them?

Now, as much as I love my Legnum, I'm a ToyoTragic and if the Crown Wagon had been available... I'd have been all over it like a fatty on a Mars bar :O

People have been twin turboing them for years and making a lazy 600HP ATW :D

The Y34 Cedric/Gloria is pretty cool but IMO you need the leather interior or it just doesn't work.

To quote Kristian from SAU (again)
"All auto, but like the Laurel, manual conversions are pretty straightforward."

* with the small print that 1UZs require custom bellhousings - not *that* hard to find, but there's no factory manual 1UZs.

Easy enough to build up the autos to hold big power, also ad tiptronic feature, guys in the supras do it all the time, probably a lot cheaper than sourcing a 6 speed supra box, they go for big $$$.

An R154 5-speed manual conversion (Soarer, Chaser, N/A Supra) would still be good!

Man, twin turbo v8 one of those would be so cool. Although the easy power from the 1j is also appealing. Much more of a VIP car than anything else though, not that thats a bad thing.

Wow! I don't really like wagons, but I really like that first one! 4L V8 for me too :D

According to Cars Directory, the specs aren't that far removed from ours;

Exterior dimensions (LxWxH), mm4835 x 1765 x 1510
Interior dimensions (LxWxH), mm1985 x 1510 x 1200
Wheel base, mm2780
Treads (F/R), mm1495 / 1470
Ground clearance, mm145
Curb vehicle weight, kg1680
Gross vehicle weight, kg
Seating capacity, persons5
Doors number5
Min.turning radius, m5.3
Fuel tank capacity, l70

I'd still take a Legnum though. These are rear wheel drive correct? We'd kill them for handling...
