I am restoring my EC5A sedan and as a mechanic was reinstalling the rear subframe, he snapped the thread extention when tightening the AYC hydralic connection to the diff casing. I have a spare diff I bought from Rick Winsor but unsure of it's condition. Rick said it was working fine when removed. Would it be better to replace my whole diff or just the outer AYC casing? Just a small thing to break but a big headache to fix. I'll also have to find a mechanic in Brisbane north who knows these cars with AYC.

I believe Rick himself has snapped off the nipple you are talking about. You would have to ask him what he did to fix.

In regards to mechanics whom know their stuff, there is a thread about recommended mechanics found here.

I personally recommend Keeley Motorsports. He is on the southside, however he is whom i go to for all my vr4 needs.

Nipple snapping is something I do in private, but I have never done it to a diff.

His is worse than the bleed nipple I believe, he has snapped the whole ayc pump line off.

So I saw on facebook you are going to have the diff I sold you installed by a mechanic. Hopefully the mechanic isn't the same one that cracked the old one, unless he gives you a discount I guess.
Anyway, hopefully they know about AYC diffs, and know where to get the oil seals for the output shafts.
If not, I think these are them:

Someone on here with ASA might be able to confirm, I can't get the program working on my laptop any more.

I am getting Rod Chapman of Chapman Auto service in Cooroy Qld to swap the diffs. He has been servicing Evos and builds Mitsubishi rally cars. He knows AYC.
I would like to buy the parts needed which is the two output axil seals and the four rubber boots for both ends of the two axils. If I take them to him, I can wait while he swaps.
