For logging, ecu model is irrelevant.

Cheapest solution is to find VAGCOM cable that uses the FTDI chipset.
so maybe search in ebay, aliexpress 'FTDI VAGCOM'

Once you got the cable, needs a slight modification to make it work as documented here: https://www.ozvr4.com/threads/diy-datalogging-cable.9829/

Otherwise openport2.0 cable from Tactrix will work too.
Bonus of openport: has ability to log to SD card without evoscan, etc which is handy rather than having a laptop on your passenger seat.

Is this the cable?

Looks like a chinese copy of an openport 2.0. the fact it explicitly mentions to "use their software" or it will fail is a dead give away.

Cant vouch how well it would work.
For example, if drivers supplied are even compatible with evoscan.

Chances are its using old version of drivers, which as a person that writes code to use the cable, youll hit a bug pretty quickly (as i have in the past and reported to tactrix support)

If you're going down the openport 2.0 path, I'd buy a genuine, otherwise the vag cable is a good option.

I have both, the vag cable has a faster sample rate in evoscan.
