Just made the club anyway, search for OZVR4 or OVR4 (the club tag).
If there's enough interest, some big races would be mad!

Anyone got a suggestion for an affordable but decent wheel/pedal combo?
Had a look in the shops the other day and there are some mighty expensive ones. eBay has some for cheap but they look.....cheap.

G27 doesnt work on xbox and microsoft dont make one anymore just some little gimmicky handheld thing.

only decent cheap one is made by Madcatz but iam having trouble finding it in austraulia.

Jb hifi sell there older xbox 360 wheel but its not the best no force feedback.

Best one is the soon to be released Fanatec CSR wheel ... but your looking around 700 for that.

Yeah, it's a real shame about G25/G27 support for X360. I've heard of adapters, but you lose force feedback, which is half the point of a wheel :(

One of these is what you want, even if it's 2nd hand I reckon:

Apart from the small turning radius and lack of shifter/clutch, it's tops. Pedals are good, great feedback from under/oversteer, flappypaddles are solid.

The other high-end Fanatec wheels, like their Porsche one, are fantastic, but more than what the average racer wants to spend :(

Yeah I'd like one with the force feedback I guess, I've never owned a home racing wheel before but seems it'd be good.

I saw those wireless speed wheels all over eBay when I checked, I'm hesitant to buy one. I hated the wireless hand-held wheel that I used for Mario Kart Wii, I'd imagine its similar to that :(

Yeah its no real wheel but its a lot better than using a controller apparently.

We will see but either way it will be a bit of fun to use when racing with my son.

True!
Let us know how it is - responsive/sluggish, accurate/not accurate etc.

Do you need the Kinect attachment to use it?

No no kinect required although I assume kinect could still be used for head tracking.

Will post up tonight/tomorrow my initial thoughts on it.

and again in a week or so after ive given it a good thrash
