I borrowed a fuel pressure guage, and I did have to cut into the rubber fuel hose leading to the fuel rail and fit a T piece in to measure the fuel pressure.
for the record, the fuel pressure is about 43 psi or so at idle and under full throttle (15 or 16 psi of boost) would rise to about 60psi which i understood is about right (although someone jump in if not).
connecting the fuel pressure guage to the outlet side of the fuel regulator (the return to the tank) was pretty inconclusive, it seemed to read a few psi at idle and nothing under load.
one other thing i learnt during this process is the fuel pump only gets about 7.5 volts at idle and coasting, then comes up to 12V only once you get onto the throttle. (by design) i verified that with the multimeter. just keep that in mind if trying to check your fuel pump flow, or pump voltage etc when at idle.. 7.5 volts does NOT indicate somethings broken..
I don't they'll care, it's like 6 years old...Not sure where the 43 psi comes from, my service manual states 38.5 at idle, vacuum hose connected, 48.5 disconnected.
