Hey all,

Just wanted to ask some questions regarding installing a VTA BOV.

I have purchased a GFB StealthFX BOV and was told by GFB that if i get the Evo specific kit it will fit.

My question is how does the BOv attach on? As the one i hav hear does not have a flange and it was my understanding that is how they are normally attached. Am i missing something?

I have searched and i cannot see anything specific regarding the fittment of one.

I have attached a picture.

Thanks All

Tristian

Im guessing you dont have your car yet. When you get it, all will become clear.

Take off the old one, connect up the new one to the same pipes.

Hardest part will be squeezing your head under the car to do it :)

so quick question, is it VTA or to intake? Or both? as there is a fitting to attach the intake pipe but there is also an opening for VTA?

So whats the opinion of a Dual port BOV? I've always been under the impression (just the way I've been brought up) that you get a longer life span when you have something to do a specific job and your not continually moving it. More moving parts the more that can break and the more you change the setting on the BOV the more you moving things around.

So what do people think of Dual port BOV's? 'Cause admittedly they do have there place, and would be very useful.

Just to make things clear,

I am looking at getting a better BOV.

However I am under the impression that I need some sort of "adapter kit" to fit certain cars. But going by that photo, it isn't quite the case.

Is that correct? Can I just buy any BOV off the shelf/second hand and fit it, with no problems?

Thanks.

just so you know,

1. thats not legit. i hope it holds boost.
2. if you want it to recirc you needs to buy this and take the bov apart and remove the coloured fins, and insert the recirc hose adapter...thats assuming the copy can be taken apart

edit:
heres another showing the actual part

HKS SSQV Recirculation adapter | eBay

also, the outlets are usually 1" or 25mm and our pipes are 34mm, so you have to buy some 25mm pipe (VN commodore heater hose works well) and then find an adaptor to go from 25->34mm

My experience with eBay hks bovs is that they hold boost just fine. The problem I found is that after they vent they don't close properly until you get back on boost (on sqv design bovs the boost actually holds the valve closed, so you never get a problem with them leaking boost), this will cause excess fuel consumption.
