You can look up your Vehicle details on RAWS if its approved...

http://raws.dotars.gov.au/rawswebpublic/RAWPubVehSearch.asp

Type in your VIN and click search

Then if you click on the VIN link you can get all info they have on your car...

Our importing agents wouldnt be given the vin would they?

Finding the VIN is pretty easy guys. It is the chassis number of your car plus 6U9000 to make it up to 17 digits.

So, for example, if your chassis number is EC5W-1234567 then the VIN that DOTARS will assign is 6U9000EC5W1234567.

If you can't find it then it hasn't been added to the system which means your car probably doesn't have import approval yet.

Yeah actually that could be right, now that you've triggered my memory I think that is the case that it will only be entered into the system once the car has been complied.

Yep, you are correct. You car wont show until the plates are approved for the vehicle and its registered in the system.
