hey guys,

the recent discussion about re-designing the LCA (in suspension forum) has made me curious about the galant/legnum suspension setup.. I want to make a detailed solid model of the suspension so i can analyse the current suspension and see if theres any oppourtunity to improve.. but to do so i need very detailed dimensions of the hub carriers..

so basically does anyone in SA have a hub carrier lying around(front or rear, may as well analyse both and see if anythign can be changed!) (perhaps off a halfcut or leftover from a S1-S2carrier upgrade) that I could borrow for a few days (probably dont need to borrow it even, could probably just take the measurements I need in a few minutes)?

thanks!

G'Day Robert.... Do you mind if I change the thread title to represent the contents of thread a bit better?

I was thinking [SA] Wanted to borrow - Hub Carriers? You might get a better response that way :)

You must have a lot of spare time on your hands, would take a while to do this. Doing something along these lines for my final year project at uni and to do it accurately takes a long long time.

I wouldnt say I have alot of time, but enough to take measurements and input these into a suspension analysis package and see what the galant is setup to do. One of the things I want to try to do is work out how to relocate the suspension pickup back to the hub carrier, hence allowing a new lightweight LCA to be designed without having to deal with the shock absorber loadings.

Oh i see, that wouldnt take as long. Didnt realise you were using a specialised program. I assumed you were going to create a solid model and do a stress analysis or something. Good luck anyway, always good to know more about these cars.
