I've had an SRS light light on the dash now for a week after I had all the plugs out of the ASC sockets. All plugs now back in place but light still on. Someone on CVR4 stated that this is the only fault that an ECU reset cannot reset. Obviously the airbags won't work until this is fixed. Any idea how to reset it/check for faults?

But have you actually tried an ECU reset, ie: disconnecting the battery?

SRS has to be reset by the dealer or somebody with a MUT. Was there a fault before they were unplugged

I don't think EvoScan can do it.

James, have you been playing with the wiring in the car such as tapping off power for a boost controller or something? What was the reason for having the ASC plugs out?

Also, is your horn still working at the moment?

I did reset the ECU and light remained on. All I did was take all plugs out of the ASC sockets to service the AYC (SA service guide). No power tapping at all.
I took the car to Kamikaze in Nunawading. Found a SRS squib problem which after resetting using Scanpro equipment, it didn't come back on. Gremlins! I did take the car to Mitsubishi dealer first and they couldn't get their MUT2 to read the ECU! Then was advised to take it to auto elec as they had a universal snap on but still no joy.
All good now. :D

Give Techsport in Bayswater a call, they specialise in Evos and know our cars well so you might have better luck there.

Hey,

Evoscan can't reset the SRS light.

Normal ECU reset won't reset the SRS system either.

The only Vic mitsubishi dealer I know of who has a MUT tool for Import Evo's and alike is in Knox.

TechSport have a compatible MUT tool and Jeff can reset the indicator as he did this with mine.

Generally the SRS light comes on if you disconnect the steering wheel without disconnecting the battery and waiting for power to drain.

Gavin
