Standard boost-what is it?

William's car was modded with exhaust, intercooler, etc and it was running bang on 7psi as well. He had no boost solenoid either, so that may well be it.

i just got a boost guage installed and noticed depending wat gear i am going to the boost is higher, say 2nd-3rd gear reads about 5psi but 3rd to second will go up to about 8psi. Does that sound right ???? I have a mbc to install also

First and second won't acheive as high boost levels as 3rd and 4th, you need load to make full boost. Sure, you may get close to a preset higher than stock boost level in 1 & 2 but it won't hold as well.

Thanks for that Trevor, being new to turbos i wasnt sure. At least i know its not the car
